Lama Restaurant

A Taste of Peru in St Augustine

A relative newcomer to the St Augustine food scene Chef Marcel Vizcarra has taken it by storm, with his bold flavors and platings that are a feast for the eyes. Llama truly is a must eat at restaurant, come hungry and bring friends as it is best experienced as a group so you can explore the menu fully. Some of our favorite menu items include the Anticuchos and Lima Ceviche appetizers both have presentations that will delight more than just your tastebuds. Movie on to entrees you can’t go wrong with the lamb Cordero Cusqueño, or the Mar Y Terra surf and turf featuring the Peruvian staple Lomo Saltado a hanger steak stir-fry and a Shrimp Tagliatelle both nods to Peru’s Asian and Italian immigrant influences.

The Floridian

Farm to Table with Florida Flair

This cozy down town gem uses the freshest local ingredients to create a blend of true to form and innovative twists on southern classics. Make sure you try a drink from their extensive cocktail menu. Some of our favorites include the Company’s Coming app with fried green tomatoes (FGT’s for those in the know) and an assortment of pickled veggies and other goodies. Moving on to main dishes you can’t go wrong with the N’ Grits a true souther staple of your choice of protein or tofu for our non meat-eater friends, or my favorite the Bay of Pigs a great take on the Florida icon the Cuban sandwich.

Commanders Shellfish Camp

$20 Buckets of Local Oysters!!!

As a native floridan oysters are practically a religion for me and commanders is a cathedral to all things shellfish. They are a operating shellfish farm with a lab, hatchery, and submerged land lease on site. This is the real deal folks, you can see where your clams where bred, gown, and harvested while you’re waiting on them to be steamed. Commanders also does have a market if you would like to stock up for your next oyster roast or low county boil. Did I mention $20 buckets of oysters?
